A Little Taste of Finland
Finnish flavours, countryside charm and a chance to bake together
Would you like to experience something truly Finnish during your stay in Finland?
Gather your own small group and join us at Tuhannen Tarinan Talo for a little Finnish food journey in the peaceful countryside of the Saimaa region.
We serve familiar Finnish flavours in a fun and relaxed way – as small Finnish tapas served in traditional Finnish pastries and flatbreads. You can fill them with flavours from the forest, fields, Lake Saimaa and the kitchens of Finnish grandmothers.
And this is not just a meal. You can also get your hands in the dough and make your own traditional Finnish pastries with us. Under the guidance of your host, you will learn how to prepare Finnish Karelian pies and lepuskat, a traditional Finnish flatbread. You will bake them yourself and, of course, taste the results together around the table.
It is a relaxed and authentic way to get a glimpse of Finnish food traditions – and a lovely experience to share with friends, family or colleagues.
A Little Taste of Finland – from €59/person

During the evening, you will enjoy a selection of small Finnish tapas to share with your own group.

Make your own Finnish pastries
For groups who would like an even more hands-on experience, the Finnish food journey can be arranged as a small baking workshop.
Together with the host of Tuhannen Tarinan Talo, you will learn how to shape and bake traditional Finnish Karelian pies and lepuskat. No previous baking skills are needed – just come with curiosity and a good appetite!
After baking, sit down together and enjoy your own creations with a selection of Finnish fillings and accompaniments.
Extend your evening with a Finnish sauna
After the food experience, why not continue the evening with a traditional Finnish sauna?
Our sauna packages can be booked separately. The most extensive option is our “A Little Extra Sauna Experience”, with private use of our sauna facilities, including a traditional smoke sauna, sauna area, infrared sauna, electric sauna, hot tub, outdoor hot tub and the atmospheric Äpyli lounge.
